Chobe Marina
Kasane, Botswana
- Comfortable resort on the banks of the Chobe River
- Convenient location close to the park, Victoria Falls and more
- Wildlife, adventure and a rather idyllic setting
Chobe Marina is a convenient and comfortable base camp in pole position near the intersection of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The Chobe National Park lies to the west, the Kasane Forest Reserve to the south and the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls is about an hour’s drive to the east. That leaves north and that’s where the Chobe River comes in – about three metres to the north.
The hotel has a variety of en suite room options including studios, apartments, chalets, and suites with private lounges. All have essential comforts like air conditioning, ceiling fans, TV, telephones and mini bars. Views are of the river or private landscaped gardens but by the time you get back to your room after the day’s outings you probably won’t even look out of your window.
Recreation takes the form of eating and drinking at the Marina and you’ve got a choice of riverside deck, poolside bar, elegant restaurant or relaxed terrace. Barbeques and African meat specialities prevail and a variety of tastes and styles are catered for.
If lazing by the pool gets a bit boring you can go for boat cruises in the Chobe National Park, try your hand at tiger fishing, go for day trips to Namibia and Victoria Falls, visit the crocodile farm and there’s a nine-hole golf course nearby. Scenic flights – if you’ve got the loot – are a fabulous way to explore the region, see the falls and be back in time for your evening sundowner cruise on the river.
