Chobe Savanna
Chobe, Botswana
- Tranquil lodge along the Chobe River in the Caprivi
- Luxurious thatched chalets with river views
- Water-based game viewing and peaceful sundowner cruises
Chobe Savanna Lodge is on the northern banks of the Chobe River in the Caprivi Strip – Namibia’s long finger that divides Botswana and Zambia.
At the water’s edge the lodge is a rustic thatch and timber haven in the endless floodplains of the Caprivi and Chobe Rivers. The main lodge has an open-sided and comfortable living area and a solid bar with plenty of relaxation on offer - pool, loungers, couches and a hearty fireplace for cosy winter evenings.
The 12 en suite chalets are decorated with earthy colours, rich textures and solid teak wood; amenities include air-conditioning, romantic mosquito drapes, ceiling fans and mini bars. Your private deck overlooks the Chobe River and its wildlife-infested floodplains.
Dine in the boma by the river; laze by the pool by the river or read in the shade of your private deck… by the river. Safari activities revolve around the river with water safaris, game walks, canoeing, fishing and sunset cruises on offer. Savanna Lodge has been de-commissioned from the regiments of structured game-viewing activities and you can choose when to go and what to do.
The area is famous for large herds of elephant as well as rare species of antelope, lion, wild dog, plenty of general game and prolific birdlife.
