Baines Camp
Okavango, Botswana
- Small, luxurious and private
- Full range of game activities and plenty of wildlife
- Fascinating interactive walk with three friendly elephants
Baines’ Camp is outside the Moremi Game Reserve and inside the Okavango Delta, which translates to exclusive and unlimited access to a pristine wetlands wilderness.
The camp is an intimate and exclusive lodge with just five luxurious suites overlooking the permanent water of the Boro River and a seasonal lagoon. Each tented suite is raised on a wooden platform and has an en suite bathroom and a private viewing deck.
The living area features an enormous deck for al fresco dining overlooking the river and there’s a swimming pool and two salas to aid the relaxation process.
Activities include day and night game drives on the open flood plains, water safaris in mekoro and delta boats, walking safaris and elephant walks – an absolutely-must-not-leave-without-doing activity.
On the elephant walk you will meet three habituated orphans and discover the fascinating world of these gentle family-oriented giants. You will set off on a gentle walk that ends with a bush picnic while your pachyderm companions mill about politely sticking a trunk in your ear or nosing about your salad.
The delta sustains an enormous diversity of wildlife. From predators and plains game in the floodplains to the riverine birdlife, you will see Africa’s wild animals as they’ve always been – wild.
