Cape Town Hollow
Company’s Gardens, City Bowl, Cape Town
- Comfortable and unimposing style
- Close to the city centre and in-vogue areas of Cape Town
- Easy escape with a wellness centre
To talk of its location would do Cape Town Hollow’s many other qualities injustice. Having enjoyed the attentions of a multi-million Rand refurbishment, this intimate hotel is a successful combination of comfortable retreat and urban convenience.
The new decor is a fine example of the usefulness of a colour-matcher: combinations range from cream and beige to burgundy and chocolate with subtle greens, reds and browns to complement the setting.
Cape Town Hollow has an airy Italian restaurant serving up authentic meals with South African wines in a vibrant atmosphere and you can watch life go by from the sidewalk patio. The roof-top bar provides a dramatic view of Table Mountain and the city lights.
The 56 en suite rooms are comfortably appointed and decked out in calming creams and muted browns with massive windows and a balcony. Offering a sanctuary amidst the madness is a fully equipped wellness centre with spa, jacuzzi and sauna.
And now we can get back to location. Cape Town Hollow is tucked away on a one-way street adjacent to the Company’s Gardens and a string of museums and listed buildings.
The historical heart of Cape Town surrounds you and there’s barely enough time to put on your sunglasses before you get to the oh-so-fashionable Kloof Street. To make matters worse, Long Street, the city centre and some of South Africa’s finest restaurants are also within easy walking distance.
