Les Cascades
Bantry Bay, Cape Town
- An exquisite taste of the spice islands
- 5-star luxury with hotel service and guest house intimacy
- Serene location with sweeping views of the Atlantic
True, it cascades down the upper slopes of Lion’s Head in a riddle of terraces, pools and bamboo-roofed pagodas, but quite where the French connection occurs may not be apparent on arriving at Les Cascades de Bantry Bay - a five-star luxury boutique hotel in one of the Cape’s most revered seafront nooks.
Les Cascades belies its odd choice of name with spice-island elegance fused with new-world African panache. Dark chocolate leather chairs, ornate chunky wooden tables, mottled rust and grey tiling and bamboo have been used to create a dramatic Balinese style with a distinct African flavour.
The main lodge has six en suite rooms with private sea-facing balconies and large bay windows with latticed shutters. Each room has its own lounge and luxurious facilities and fittings are standard throughout.
The villa has four bedrooms and has been given a contemporary dusting with equal audacity; bathrooms feature designer tubs and fittings and the dining area has sandstone masonry, exposed beams, deep leather chairs and enough tableware to sink the QE2.
Breakfast is available in continental or full English in the lodge or in the privacy of your room; dinner is a gourmet feast in the exotic intimacy of the villa.
As a member of the prestigious Classic Retreats group, Les Cascades provides services and facilities to meet the most exacting standards not least of which will be style, service, and a sublime location.
