Cullinan

V & A Waterfront, Cape Town

  • Convenient location by the Waterfront and close to the city
  • Comfortable rooms with a variety of sizes to suit your needs
  • Friendly, efficient service with all the basic amenities covered

Unlike the famous diamond, The Cullinan is good value for money and practical – either as a base camp for Waterfront and beachside sojourns or for hassle-free business trips in the city. The grand entrance leads to a marbled foyer with colonnades and intricate metal while the rest of the hotel is designer shopping mall chic.

You have a choice of several room sizes and combinations from queens, twins, doubles and kings – all comfortably furnished and appointed; or you can opt for a suite with all its added benefits like a trouser press, DVD player and espresso machine, and of course more space and better views to make the plebs go green.

Being centrally located, the hotel doesn’t need to overdo the facilities. They have a small fitness centre and a pool at the back with thick padded loungers; there’s a curio shop if you can’t go home without bearing gifts; a beauty and hair salon and a business centre offering secretarial services on demand. When the national telephone company pulls finger, the hotel promises to offer wireless high speed internet access.

The Peach Tree serves the standard file-past-and-pile-your-plate breakfast buffet while Kelsey’s Grill House provides a la carte lunches, dinners and 24-hour room service meals. The hotel offers reasonably priced shuttle services and the concierge desk has all the local knowledge and info you need to explore the fairest cape.
