Fancourt Hotel
George, Garden Route
- Four world-class golf courses for your exclusive use
- Five-star luxury, enormous rooms and sumptuous bathrooms
- Warm welcome, excellent restaurants and an example in good living
If the drive through George proves a little uninspiring the welcome at Fancourt Hotel will be all the more gracious for it. Although golf is the name of the game at this village-like resort, there’s plenty more to enjoy besides a birdie on the fifth.
Rooms, suites, villas, lodges or a secluded retreat at the water’s edge - whatever you choose, spacious luxury awaits. The décor has been carefully selected to match a golfer’s best Pringle outfit with deep colours and clashing patterns but charm somehow prevails.
If you find the four excellent restaurants, a health spa, heated pools, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, tennis, bowls, volleyball, darts and billiards a limited choice, there are three nature trails up to 10km long that wind through forest and along the shoreline.
If golf is your bag, then congratulations on a fine choice of destination. Although Gary Player is a strange fellow, he does have a knack for designing spectacular courses and Fancourt has had his full attention. Four courses ranging from friendly to just plain mean will test every aspect of your game and provide a memorable day out no matter what you shoot.
Fancourt is to golf what Disneyworld is to Mickey Mouse – a shrine with a successful spin-off. The resort has two parklands, one links and a friendly public course, a world-class golf academy and ‘high performance lab’ and pro shops littered all over the estate.

George is the capital of the Garden Route and while its infrastructure offers every convenience, you’ll appreciate Fancourt’s seclusion from the busy town. |

If you do venture out of the estate you’ll find beaches, forests and nature trails – and some large shopping malls with chain stores. |
