Imbali Safari Lodge
Mluwati, Kruger Park Concessions
- Classic safari lodge with decadent overtones
- Large, luxurious bungalows with private jacuzzis
- Private concession within the Kruger National Park
The Mluwati Concession has three different camps, all offering luxurious accommodation, excellent game viewing and superb food.
Imbali Safari Lodge is a chunk of luxury on the edge of a riverbed and surrounded by lush riverine forest. The theme is decadent post-colonial luxury with hefty furniture and Morris chairs on a large wooden deck marking the course of the river.
The 12 bungalows are enormous stone and contoured thatch constructions on concrete slabs opening onto a large wooden deck complete with a sunken jacuzzi and a view over the river and into the wilderness.
Dining is a rich and satisfying experience befitting the elegant style and you will be entertained by a boisterous rendition of a tribal dance. The weather will dictate your venue: the elegant restaurant; the sublime deck beneath ancient jackalberry trees; under the stars on your private deck; or, for something special, out in the bush.
Your two daily game drives, led by an amiable ranger will follow the trails of Africa’s ‘big five’ – lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant – and you will stop to gawk at all manner of small and large animals along the way.
Evening game drives extend into the night when a night light is used to pick out the fascinating nocturnal creatures. After breakfast your ranger will take you on a walking safari and point out interesting plants, birds and insects while staying well clear of any dangerous animals.
