Lion Sands Ivory Lodge
Sabi Sands, Greater Kruger Park
- Intimate luxury in an elegant and sophisticated lodge
- Six large suites with private pools and sundecks overlooking the Sabie River
- ‘Magnificent seven’ game viewing and a fascinating wildlife encounter
A family farm for four generations since the early 1900s, Lion Sands has two five-star lodges along the banks of the Sabie River in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
Ivory Lodge is the newer of the two lodges and the design has been plucked from a Joburg suburb with smooth lines and plush colours that ooze style and lots and lots of money.
The six suites, separated by raised boardwalks, have elephantine proportions and McCartney/Wonder colours in full harmony. Glass walls open into the wilderness and the sundeck and plunge pool look out over the Sabie River and its wildlife parades. Each room has a private courtyard, en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, separate lounge with fireplace, and air conditioning and ceiling fans.
With gourmet cooking using exotic African venison – and some international standards for the less adventurous, Ivory Lodge offers a variety of eating venues from the intimate dining room to whole nights out in the bush. Add to this a huge wine cellar, main swimming pool and game-viewing deck, lounge and reading room, and a health and wellness spa.
Your wilderness experience will top every luxury and the reserve’s private ecologist, rangers and trackers provide a holistic wildlife experience. Be the star of your own documentary on fascinating game drives, walking safaris, night walks, cultural tours, river tours and specialist seminars and expeditions.
