Thornybush Main Lodge
Thornybush, Greater Kruger Park
- Larger than life luxury in a classic safari lodge
- Twenty large rooms with secluded decks overlooking the river
- High concentration of lion and other big game in a private reserve
Offering the classic African safari, Thornybush Lodge has several lodges with a range of styles and luxury.
The Main lodge comprises a grand thatched arena that opens onto a sundeck with rim-flow pool that drops into the seasonal Monwana River. The spa, gym and reading library will provide temporary distraction from the game-viewing and fine dining that will occupy most of your attention.
Twenty luxurious suites, built with timber, stone and thatch, line the river and the family suites – if only the knew – have floor-to-ceiling glass doors that part like the Red Sea and bow down to the large deck and plunge pool.
The lounge is a comfortable safari-chic expanse of wood and fawn and the boma is festive expanse of fireside dining tables and chairs for the traditional under-the-stars African eating experience.
The game-viewing experience is an intimate and personalised experience. Your ranger will entertain and amaze you while his tracker quietly picks up the trail of one of the ‘big five’ or some other fascinating beast of the bush.
Activities include two daily games drives – one very early and one late afternoon – and optional walking safaris after breakfast where you will see, hear, smell, feel and even taste the true African bush.
