Itinerary
Day 1: Cape Town
Pick up your hired car on arrival at Cape Town airport and drive to your hotel in De Waterkant – about 20 minutes if you don’t get too lost. Cape Town and the whole region are easy to navigate and the roads are well sign-posted – but do get hold of a good street map beforehand.
• Sprinklings of Fairy Dust: Village Lodge • Heaps of Fairy Dust: Sugar
Day 2 – 7: Cape Town and beyond
It’s all yours to explore and devour: find your favourite beach; visit the winelands; climb Table Mountain; party all night at the gay clubs; explore the Cape Peninsula; visit Robben Island and go on a township tour; visit Kirstenbosch Gardens; trawl Long Street; shop for souvenirs, jewellery, fabrics and clothes; go to a show On Broadway; or get clever and visit the museums, galleries and exhibitions.
If it’s all too much, talk to us and we’ll help you plan your week; we can even arrange day tours and excursions for you. There’s also a handy little gay tourist information bureau right in the middle of De Waterkant, where you’ll be staying.
• Sprinklings of Fairy Dust: Village Lodge • Heaps of Fairy Dust: Sugar
Day 8: Cape Town
If you haven’t extended your stay, it’s time to leave. The airport will seem a sad and melancholy place by comparison but at least you’ll be leaving with the knowledge that you’ll be back – oh yes, you will.
