Itinerary

Day 1: Okavango Delta

Fly to Maun from Joburg International and board a scheduled charter to Stanley’s Camp. Your transfer to Baines Camp will arrive in time for brunch and a game drive in the private concession.

Return by nightfall for dinner by the campfire and roll the bed out of your room for a night under the stars.

• Heaps of Fairy Dust: Baines Camp

Day 2: Okavango Delta

One of the many highlights of your safari will be a walk and a picnic lunch with Thembe, Jabu and Marula. Their table manners may be somewhat lacking but they can get away with it because of their infinite charm – and those enormous tusks.

Life returns to normal in the afternoon with a game drive, sundowners and another fabulous dinner.

• Heaps of Fairy Dust: Baines Camp

Day 3 - 4: Chief’s Island, Okavango

Transfer to Chief’s Camp after an early morning game drive and arrive in time for brunch. Game viewing in the Mombo concession is excellent and the tented camp has won many awards.

Activities are mostly water-based, offering serene game viewing and excellent birding. During the flood season between May and September traditional mekoro are used to slip silently through the reeds and tributaries.

• Heaps of Fairy Dust: Chief’s Camp

Day 5 – 6: Chobe National Park

After the morning’s game viewing and a languid brunch you will fly to Kasane in time for a late lunch at Chobe Chilwero Lodge – famous for its riverside pizzeria.

Chilwero has a spectacular elevated view across the Chobe River where the parks famed elephants come in numbers to drink, bathe and frolic about. Other semi-permanent sights along the river are large herds of buffalo, birds and the sunsets are sensational.

• Heaps of Fairy Dust: Chobe Chilwero

Day 7: Victoria Falls/Joburg

An early morning boat cruise is topped by your final breakfast at the camp. Time to pack and bid farewell to the beautiful African bush; you will transfer by road to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight back to Joburg and the end of an exceptional safari.
