Enjoy a luxury Gay African Safari in Style

Private reserves are the crème de la crème of African safari experiences that offer all the little extras that make a trip magical. What makes a private reserve different from a public reserve? Well, it's all about ensuring intimate animal encounters.

If you don't like sharing, you'll be delighted to know that you'll often be the only safari vehicle on the road. Furthermore, at private game reserves, you can head off-road to accelerate your heart rate and get you up close and personal with the wildly fascinating creatures. Want to know what happens when Africa's lights go out? Don't we all! On a luxury safari, you can head out after dark to see the nocturnal animals coming out to play. Or, if you want something a little bit more down to earth, you can set off on a bushwalk to get to the animals' level.

Other than these bespoke experiences, once back at your lodge, you can expect all the bells and whistles to make you feel like the queen you are. Just be warned: once you've had a taste of the good life, there's no going back.

All Your Questions About Luxury African Safaris Answered

Why Choose a Luxury Safari?

You want to travel back in time to when the world was still wild. However, you don't actually want to live like the cavemen! That's why we combine the wildest landscapes with the most opulent accommodation. So you have a front-row-throne that is plush enough for a Queen. If you want all the bells and whistles, our luxury African safaris are for you. Furthermore, you have flexibility over your itinerary as we tailor it to your needs. Pop the champagne and bring the caviar, garçon!

What Are The Best Destinations For a Luxury Safari?

Take your pick. At Out2Africa, we like to go BIG! All of our gay-friendly destinations have ultra-luxurious accommodation options. In Kruger National Park, we have opulent private villas, lodges or luxury tented camps. We also take you to private reserves such as Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve for uncrowded, exclusive game viewing opportunities. Think: bathing outdoors as you watch the elephant strut past you in the distance. Or swimming in a large private pool while they dip their trunks into your pool for a sip. It's combining these rare wildlife experiences with every comfort and convenience at your fingertips that make a luxury safari so special. If you want something even more adventurous, Rwanda has unique luxury accommodation. You probably already know that it is one of Ellen Degeneres' favourite holiday spots, so you know it must be of the highest standards! East Africa is wild, but the accommodation has all the finest luxuries you desire. Victoria Falls will also blow you away with a wide range of luxury accommodation. Ah, we can't wait for you to experience it all for yourself!

What Are The Differences Between a Private and Public Reserve?

A public game reserve tends to be more crowded, and you can only drive on the main designated roads. You, therefore, have to share the space and experience with a convoy of other vehicles. On the other hand, a private game reserve allows you to go off-road to follow the animals. Furthermore, you can also go on night safaris, and you have a more exclusive experience. At a private game reserve, you can go an entire game drive without seeing another safari vehicle, giving you exclusive access to the wildlife and the best possible angles to photograph them.

What Experiences Can I Expect On a Luxury Safari?

Our luxury safaris give you access to private guides, fly-in safaris, award-winning food and wine, private pools, spacious villas, lodges or tents, and you can even sleep under the stars in one of the luxury treehouses. You can go on walking, horseback or game drive safaris, and there are plenty of other activities in store. You can do as little or as much as you'd like on a luxury safari!

What Should I Pack?

"Depending on where you are heading, you should always check whether it is a malaria area. However, Cape Town has many malaria-free safari destinations! If you book with Out2Africa, we will always be one step ahead and ensure that you are fully prepared when your feet hit African soil. When going on safari, you should always ensure that you pack enough warm AND cool clothes as the weather can be unpredictable. Sunblock is a necessity as the African sun is very potent. Other items such as a hat, sunglasses, bug repellant, your best khaki outfit, comfortable shoes and a rainjacket are all useful. Many luxury safari lodges also have boutique gift stores in case you forget something. Lastly, don't forget your camera and extra memory cards!"
